The upcoming 'TotalEnergies' Africa Cup of Nations is set to take place in 2027, with Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda joining forces as hosts. I am confident that this tournament will be a resounding success. The Africa Cup of Nations will then be held in 2028, 2031, and 2033. The FIFA World Cup is scheduled for 2030, and in adherence to FIFA's tradition, no Africa Cup of Nations or other continental national team final tournaments will be held in the same year. The Africa Cup of Nations is not just a football spectacle; it is also a grand celebration of Africa's diverse cultures, customs, and traditions. It binds together the people of the 54 African nations, the African diaspora, and friends from across the globe. The decision made by the African Football Confederation's executive committee aligns with the greatest interests of African football and its 54 member associations, and is poised to significantly propel the long-term growth of the sport in Africa.
